The purposes of the ASB Board of Directors (BoD) shall be:

• "to provide for meaningful student-sponsored education, social, cultural, religious and service opportunities for member students;
• to foster constructive communication and interaction between the members and the administration and faculty;
• to coordinate the activities of student organizations;
• to foster good relations between ASB members and the community within which Point Loma Nazarene University is situated:
• to develop rapport with other student associations with similar objectives; and,
• to provide opportunities in which members may develop leadership qualities."
