1933 President Wiley's third and longest term begins

gfx_33_Wileys3rdFor the third time, Dr. H. Orton Wiley was called to the presidency of the College. This was in 1933, when the depression reached its lowest point. He was now to spend sixteen years as active head of the school-years of outstanding advance for the institution, spiritually, numerically, educationally, and financially. Although a scholar of rare ability and a leader of vision, Dr. Wiley has always been a man of humility. This last attribute has undoubtedly helped much in creating among his friends and college constituents that deep sense of love, admiration, and loyalty found among them everywhere. The name of Dr. Wiley is like "sterling" on silver.
