1936 Hugus Ranch House renovated by Mrs. Spangler.
For several years during the early part of President Wiley's third term a dedicated Christian lady did much for the physical improvement of the campus buildings. This was Mrs. F. Stoy Spangler, wife of a trustee, who served for years on the board. She was instrumental in getting such donations as some new gas heaters for the men's dormitory, a new carpet for the chapel platform, a new roof for the old administration building and many other gifts. The Clarion for September, 1938, had this to say:
Special thanks is due Mrs. F. Stoy Spangler, who for years has been giving her time to soliciting funds and securing materials for improvements on the campus. Her constant effort has gradually changed the physical appearance of many of the buildings.
