Lois Kiehn remembers...Professor Phil Carlson.

Phil-CarlsonDr. Carlson was always so interested in students and he was such an inspiration! When Gordon Kiehn ('42) was a student at Pasadena College, there was no pre-med program. Gordon wanted to go to medical school so he thought he would major in chemistry. Pasadena College didn't have all the classes for a chemistry major at that time. Dr. Carlson knew Gordon wanted to go to medical school so Dr. Carlson designed advanced chemistry classes for him. Gordon was the only student. This was critical in his ability to go to medical school. He was accepted at Loma Linda, graduated and became a doctor. Dr. Carlson was instrumental in making it possible for Gordon to pursue this life dream.
