Special Academic Services

Learning, Medical, Psychological and Physical Disabilities Services

Disabled students with special needs must produce verification of a specific disability, conducted within the last three years and placed on file in Special Academic Services. Medical and/or psychological conditions or disorders may require annual updates.

Learning Disabled Students

A complete set of aptitude and achievement test results is required. Once this is done, a needs assessment will be developed with the student. Because the provision of all reasonable accommodations and services is based on assessment of the current impact of the student’s disabilities on academic performance, it is in the student’s best interest to provide recent and appropriate documentation. This documentation should be sent to Patricia L. Curley, director of Special Academic Services (619) 849-2486 at the PLNU address.

Physically Disabled Students

Special physical accommodations must be addressed before the start of the semester by working with Patricia L Curley, director of Special Academic Services (619) 849-2486.
