Vehicle Registration: All vehicles operated on campus by faculty, staff and students must be registered with the Department of Public Safety.

Faculty/Staff Parking Areas: All faculty/staff parking areas are designated by orange parking lines and/or posted faculty/staff parking signs. Faculty/staff parking is enforced Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The white parking lines indicate commuter student parking.

Red Zones/Fire Lanes/Handicap Parking: These are not an option when faculty/staff parking spaces are not available. Tickets are not only issued by the Public Safety Department, but also by the San Diego Police Department and the San Diego Fire Department.

Reporting Crimes and Incidents: The Department of Public Safety investigates campus-related incidents and notifies the San Diego Police Department when required. It is important that all crimes occurring on campus be reported immediately to the Public Safety Department to ensure appropriate action is taken.

The University strongly encourages victims and witnesses to report all incidents to the Point Loma Public Safety Department at once, regardless of their nature. Crimes can be averted by promptly reporting suspicious activity. If an individual's actions are suspicious, faculty are encouraged to call the Public Safety Department. A Public Safety officer will assess the situation and take appropriate action.

Personal Property: Point Loma Nazarene University assumes no responsibility for damage to or theft of personal property from vehicles, offices, parking lots or other University buildings.

Most of the thefts that occur on the campus can be prevented by simply locking office doors, windows, vehicle doors, and locking valuables in file cabinets or desk drawers.

Emergencies: Emergencies requiring police, fire or medical aid are to be reported to the Welcome Center at 849-2525. For any other questions or concerns, faculty should contact the Public Safety Office at 849-2201. The Department will respond to the emergency and contact the proper authorities.
