Adjunct Positions in Inland Empire Regional Center

Point Loma University's Inland Empire Regional Center is seeking candidates for the following areas for adjunct faculty.

  1. K-12 Special Education Program: Coursework for all credential levels and Master of Arts in Education, both mild-moderate and moderate-severe programs, placement and supervision of student teachers.
  2. K-12 Educational Administration Program: Coursework for all credential levels and Master of Arts in Education: Educational Leadership.
  3. Multiple and Single Subject Preliminary and Clear Credential Programs: Coursework for the preliminary multiple and single subject credential levels as well as advanced coursework for the professional clear credential, placement and supervision of student teachers.
  4. Master of Arts in Educaton: Teaching and Learning, CLAD and Reading Certificates: Advanced coursework leading to the Master of Arts in Education degree in Teaching and Learning, advanced coursework leading to the CLAD certificate and the Reading certificate.

Desired Qualifications and Special Areas of Expertise

  • Evidence of an active commitment to Christian fellowship, ministry and service
  • Evidence of high moral and ethical standards and a willingness to participate in and contribute to an intentional university Christian community
  • Evidence of highly successful teaching/administration in K-12 and/or higher education settings, focused on significant student learning in a standards-aligned, accountability based instructional system (Minimum of five years teaching or administrative experience in a K-12 system and/or in higher education)
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing standards-aligned assessment systems
  • Proven expertise as a K-12 teacher/administrator working with diverse student populations
  • Proven expertise in scholarly research with an earned doctorate or near completion of a doctorate desired; Master's level degree required
  • Evidence of strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability, flexibility and willingness to teach a versatile range of evening classes
  • Willingness to significantly support the university's mission and the School of Education's vision and goals for teaching, learning and spiritual formation
  • Proven expertise in the applied use of technology to support and inform improved teaching and learning
  • Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development
  • Evidence of active participation in professional educational organizations
  • Evidence of an active commitment to Christian fellowship, ministry and service
