The Nicholson Dining Room is operated under a contract between Point Loma Nazarene University and a food service provider, currently Sodexho Campus Services. All service provided is billed to Point Loma Nazarene University. Any faculty member desiring dining services for any reason should follow the procedures listed below.
- University Organizations
University organizations include University departments/schools that have operating budgets as well as independent organizations that are a part of the campus family. Examples of the latter are EDUCAP, the Point Loma Sports Associates, fraternities and sororities, Point Loma's Women's Auxiliary, and the many organizations within the Associated Students of Point Loma Nazarene University. Procedure:
- The person contacting the food service provider must present a Point Loma Purchase Order. The Purchase Order is issued by the Purchasing Agent upon approval by the Controller of a properly authorized requisition.
- The requisition form must identify the service requested, the estimated cost, and the organization or department/school to be charged. The requisition must be signed by the department chair/school dean for University budgets or a person in authority for other campus organizations. The requisition will be approved when it is determined that there are funds available or budgeted.
- The food service provider may be called on to provide cost estimates for the person filling out the requisition.
- Non-University Organizations
Non-University organizations include churches, colleges and universities, alumni associations of other institutions, and civic organizations. All such organizations desiring food service through Point Loma Nazarene University facilities should be referred to the Director of Auxiliary Services who is in charge of the outside use of the University campus facilities.
