- Chair
By
designation of the President, the Provost presides at
regular faculty meetings. When matters under
consideration are being referred to the faculty from the
Faculty Council, the chair of the Council presides. The
President presides at special
meetings.
- Secretary
The secretary of the faculty is elected for a three-year
term. The duties of the faculty secretary include:
- Keeping accurate records of all faculty meetings
including a record of attendance.
- Distributing minutes of all meetings to all faculty
members.
- Distributing announcements and agenda of upcoming
faculty meetings to all members of the faculty.
- Serving on the Agenda Committee.
- Notifying committee chairs in writing of faculty
actions which involve that committee.
- Agenda Committee
The Agenda Committee consists of: the
Provost, the chair of the Faculty Council, the secretary of
the Faculty, and the President of the University. The Agenda
Committee establishes the order of business for each regular
faculty meeting.
- Parliamentarian
The Provost annually appoints a
parliamentarian who is advisory to the presiding chair.
- Special Meetings
The President of the University may call
a special meeting of the faculty at any time. No agenda is
required for a special meeting. Ordinarily, the President
chairs such a meeting.
- Regular Meetings
Regular meetings of the faculty are held
at 2:40 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month and
additional regular meetings, as needed, at 2:40 p.m on the fourth
Wednesdays.
