DEVOTIONS IN CLASS
The tradition of beginning each class session with
brief devotions symbolizing the Christian emphasis of the
University is of long standing and should be taken seriously.
These should be brief, normally not more than two or three
minutes. The faculty member makes these moments meaningful and
helpful by a brief prayer, a quotation from Scripture relating a
personal experience, or presenting an excerpt from some
devotional classic. Such activities are the primary
responsibility of faculty and ordinarily should not be delegated
to students.
