HOURS
The commitment of the University to be of service to
its students is nowhere more clearly exemplified than in the area
of faculty/student interaction. Much of this takes place outside
of the formal teaching setting. Faculty members are expected to
keep regular office hours. These hours are to be listed in the course syllabus
and posted in the department/school. Ten office hours per week, during the
normal working day, are to be the minimal accepted standard.
The University places high priority upon teaching and
the teaching function. It is assumed that full-time faculty
members are on campus daily as a normal procedure. Any exception
should be carefully worked out in advance with the college dean.
