Being healthy. It should be important to everyone, yet not everyone has a healthy lifestyle. If you have a desire to encourage people to live healthier lives through their choices in physical activity, nutrition, and lifestyle, then you may have found your calling.


Overview:

PLNU offers a physical education major in its Department of Kinesiology. The goal of the program is to give students the necessary training and understanding of the body and physical fitness, to help them shape the lives of students in primary and secondary schools as fully-credentialed physical educators.

Courses in the major focus on kinesiology (the study of body movement), strength training, sports psychology, as well as mental health. Students will learn and understand the basic rules of team sports and learn strategies on coaching and officiating. As part of general education requirements, students will choose between a variety of different sports to play, including tennis, volleyball, badminton, swimming, and golf.
