You Can Support the Math/CS Department

Some ways that you can support the Mathematics/Computer Science majors at PLNU:
  • Serve on the Mathematics/Computer Science Associates Board of Directors. We need alumni that have a passion for seeing the purpose of the Associates fulfilled.
  • Speak at campus seminars on topics relating to the working world of Math and Computer Science.
  • Make sure that your employer is aware of PLNU and that they participate in the on-campus job fairs and other recruiting activities.
  • Give gifts to the Mathematics/Computer Science Associates Fund to support Math/ CS departmental scholarships, www.pointloma.edu/giving

Did You Know?

  • The department had six students who were paid to do undergraduate research last summer. Two of them were out at SPAWAR as part of a joint PLNU/SPAWAR Summer Research partnership.
  • The department hosted a Southern California Undergraduate Conference in Computer Science on Saturday April 23, 2005.

Current Projects

One current objective is to solicit contributions towards the Mathematics/Computer Science Associates Fund to increase the number of departmental scholarships offered to our undergraduates. We currently have a goal of increasing our fund by $10,000 and to increase the number of scholarships available to our undergraduates.
