David Hewitt

David Hewitt received his B.A. and M.F.A. from San Diego State University. His sculptural and photographic work have been exhibited throughout California. Currently, he is on the faculty at the School of Art, Design and Art History at San Diego State University and is an adjunct faculty member of the Art Department at Point Loma Nazarene University. He teaches painting, drawing, and photography.

He has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Other destinations have included Moscow and St. Petersburg. A major focus of the travel has been to view the major public and private art collections in the visited cities. Publications Director at the San Diego Museum of Art for over ten years, among the award winning publication projects he directed were catalogues for the Latin American Drawings Today, Deborah Butterfield, and Faberge: The Imperial Eggs exhibitions.

A Leo, his favorite color is marigold, his current favorite band is the Eagles, and he enjoys reading by the fire on cold winter nights with his wife Ingrid and their Pekinese Mucho.
