James Skalman |

James Skalman received his B.A. in painting from San Diego State University in 1980. He went on to earn his M.F.A. in Painting and Sculpture from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1984. Since 1984, he has had solo exhibitions of his multi-media installations and sculpture at major venues such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego; The University of Massachusetts, Amherst; the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; the University of California, San Diego; ARTPARK, NY; InSITE (Tijuana, B.C.) and other venues locally, nationally and internationally.
In addition, he has been commissioned to do several large-scale public art projects for the City of San Diego. His work has been reviewed extensively.
Jim teaches Drawing, 3-D Design, Painting, Sculpture, Contemporary Studio Practice, Senior Exhibition and Practicum and is the Co-Director of Keller Gallery.
