Michelle Shoemaker has specialized in designing print media for non-profit organizations since 1990. Working with Berkey Brendel Sheline in Cleveland, Ohio, she had the opportunity to design hundreds of direct mail campaigns, magazine ads, logo identity suites, calendars, brochures, and other marketing collateral. She has been Senior Designer for Latin America Childcare, worked with D. James Kennedy's Coral Ridge Ministries in Florida, The Center for Christian Statesmanship in D.C., Youth for Christ International, Dennis Rainey's Family Life Today, Royal Family Kid's Camps, the Assemblies of God World Missions, San Diego Youth for Christ, PLNU, and countless churches. Her design ethos consists of creating beautiful art with a strong, clear visual statement that motivates people into action. Recently, she was hired to work with Meguiar's Car Crazy Central as a creative consultant and was part of a six person team that developed a new website and media company in Orange County for automomobile enthusiasts. She was responsible for re-designing the car Crazy Logo, as well as re-branding and creating all new collateral materials that crossed platforms from print to web and into their weekly television program. The heart of her design is in typography. "I am a typomanic!". She has taught at PLNU since 2006 and absolutely loves getting to know each student; watching them evolve as designers. Her one goal as an instrcutor is to validate each student as an individual and help them to see what a phenomenal impact they can have on the world through their graphic design. "Graphic Design impacts everyone on this planet and the power of our design can have life-changing potential." Michelle teaches Graphic Design at PLNU and can can be reached at designershoe@cox.net
