The PLNU Department of Art and Design has an active internship program. Although internships are not required all students are encouraged to participate. In most cases, internships are completed in the student's senior year. Students can receive from 1-­3 units of credit, with 40 hours of field work required for each unit. Students have worked at host organizations all over San Diego and Southern California at leading companies such as Mires Brands, Vitrorobertson, Tyler Blik Design, MirielloGraphico, Big Bang Idea Engineering, Surfer Magazine and Quicksilver. Studio Art majors who have chosen to do internships have worked as assistants for local professional artists and in various jobs in galleries and museums all over San Diego.
