Euroterm Semester

Euroterm Semester is a semester’s experience in Europe, under the auspices of the Study Abroad programs, in conjunction with the Department of Art and Design at PLNU. Since we have had two very successful Euroterm sessions, art students have had the opportunity to take art classes on location in Europe. They have attended the Venice Biennale (a professional exposition of world art held every two years) studied art from major museums in Europe, and focused on studio work in Paris. The most recent itinerary included 12 days in London, one week in Venice, Italy, one week in Florence, Italy (the birthplace of the Renaissance), one week in Rome, Italy (site of the high Italian Renaissance), one week in Vienna, Austria (home of the Hapsburg empire), eventually settling into the city life of Paris, France, and it’s love of art for two months. In Paris, students are involved in the world of art history as well as studio work.

Students who enrolled in this past semester have proclaimed that it was a life changing experience. There is another scheduled Euroterm for fall of 2009 since there was such a great demand to continue these experiences. For further information, please contact Eugene Harris at (619) 849-2230.
