Program Changes Announced by PLNU

3/1 - Softball facility challenges and Title IX concerns have forced Point Loma Nazarene University to eliminate four of its current athletic teams, athletics director Ethan Hamilton announced. Beginning with the 2010-11 academic year, the university will no longer field teams for men’s golf, men’s cross country and track and field, and women’ softball. The university will add women’s golf as an intercollegiate program, beginning in the fall of 2011.  Read More>>

Golf: Cyr Competed in Q-School Tourney

10/30 - Former PLNU golfer Sam Cyr took part in a first-stage Q-School Tournament at nearby Carlton Oaks Golf Course. He finished two-over par and just made the cut to advance to the second qualifying round. Tournament Information>>

Sea Lions 5th at The Mustang Invitational

2009-10 Golf Schedule Released

9/25 - The 2009-10 PLNU golf schedule was released on Friday. The Sea Lions will play in eight regular season tournaments - two of which are in the fall - and then look to compete in a pair of post-season events. Full Schedule>>

Cyr 12th at PGA Qualifying Tourney

5/22 -  On Friday, Point Loma Nazarene’s Sam Cyr won the individual crown at the 58th Annual NAIA Men’s Golf National Championships. It was the senior’s second consecutive national title. The Sea Lions as a team placed in a tie for 12th. Read More

Coach Foster Inducted into NAIA Hall of Fame

5/19 - Point Loma Nazarene University's Ben Foster was inducted into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Hall of Fame into the category of golf coach on Monday. His induction was held at the banquet held on the campus of St. Ambrose University as part of the banquet held for the 2009 Golf National Championships. Read More

4/21 - No. 15-ranked Point Loma Nazarene won the GSAC/ CCC qualifying tournament held at Diamond Woods Golf Course. The win earns the Sea Lions an automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament. Read More

6/10/08 - Sam Cyr was named to the All-Nicklaus Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Cyr is the NAIA Nicklaus Award recipient due to winning the NAIA National Championship. Read More

Cyr and Kelley Tabbed as NAIA All-Americans

PLNU golfers Sam Cyr and Brandan Kelley were named to the NAIA All-American teams. Cyr, a senior, won both the NAIA Region II and NAIA National Championships, earning 1st team selections. Kelley, a junior, took sixth at regionals and was a 2nd team pick. Complete List
