PLNU Announces Soccer Coaching Changes

6/19 - PLNU Athletic Director Dr. Carroll Land announced the following coaching assignments for the men’s and women’s soccer programs: long time men’s head coach Tim Hall will also take over as head coach for the women’s soccer team with Joe Tedesco assuming the roles of women’s soccer associate head coach and men’s soccer assistant coach. Two Sea Lions Named to All-American Team

Senior goalkeeper Bryan Louzil and senior defender Chad Vargo were selected to the 2007 NAIA All-American team. The two honorable mention picks were instramental in leading the Sea Lions to a 13-3-1 record with seven shutouts and allowing just a 0.75 goal per game average. Louzil, PLNU's all-time wins and shutout leader, blanked six teams and won 11 games. Compete All-American Team

PLNU Loses Regional Opener at CUI

11/01 - Sixth-seed PLNU lost at #3 seed Concordia 4-0 in the opening round of the Region II Playoffs. The Sea Lions end the year with a 13-3-1 overall record. Though the team is ranked #12, their longo numbers are low and they have no chance for a berth to the national tournament. Read More

Three Sea Lions Selected as All-GSAC    

10/30 - Three PLNU players were named to the 2007 All-GSAC team on Monday. Jon Fielding, Brian Thames and Chad Vargo.  Fielding is in his first season as a Sea Lion but it is the third time Vargo was selected to the all-conference team and it is the fourth time for Thames. Complete List

PLNU Opens Region II Playoffs at Concordia

10/28 - Point Loma Nazarene was giving the #6 seed in the Region II Tournament. The Sea Lions will open with a road game on Thursday, November 1st at #3 Concordia. The game was moved back a day to accommodate conference games not completed due to the So. Cal wildfires. Full Schedule

PLNU Ends Regular Season with Win at TMC

10/27 -PLNU ended the regular season with a 2-0 win at The Master's on Saturday with both goals coming from Duack Jock. The NAIA No. 11 Sea Lions finish with a 7-2-1 record against the GSAC. The Region II playoffs begin on Wednesday but there is a very good chance that PLNU, which ended up fourth in conference, will open on the road. Read More

Men's Soccer Falls at Concordia

10/25 - NAIA #11 Point Loma Nazarene was defeated 1-0 by No. 9 Concordia on Thursday afternoon. The Sea Lions slip to 12-2-1 overall, 6-2-1 in the Golden State Athletic Conference.  Read More

PLNU Battles #2 Azusa Pacific to 1-1 Tie

10/20 -Two conference rivals and two of the NAIA's best went at it on the pitch Saturday afternoon for 110 action packed minutes. Sea Lions Break Out With 5-1 Win Over CBU

10/09 - On Tuesday the NAIA #17 Sea Lions finally broke out of their scoring slumber with a 5-1 win over visiting CBU. Brian Thames was the catalyst, netting a pair of goals in the win, his first since September 6, a span of six games. Read More

PLNU Edges out Westmont 1-0

Point Loma Nazarene, ranked #17 in the NAIA, picked up a 1-0 win at Westmont Saturday afternoon. The Sea Lions improved to 9-1 on the year, upping their conference mark to 3-1. The Warriors fell to 5-5 overall, 1-4 GSAC. Read More

Soccer Suffers First Loss of the Year

10/3-  PLNU suffered their first loss of the season, 1-0 at conference foe Vanguard Wednesday afternoon. The Sea Lions, who moved up from 22 to 17 in the latest NAIA rankings, fell to 8-1, 2-1 GSAC. VU wins their first conference game of the year and are now 1-3 GSAC, 5-5 overall. Read More

Sea Lions Beat Biola, Remain Unbeaten

NAIA No. 22 PLNU remained unbeaten on the season after edging Biola 1-0 Saturday afternoon. The Sea Lions scored the game's lone goal in the 38th minute when Gareth Moore, the reining GSAC Defender of the Week, headed in a shot into the net with Jon Fielding picking up the assist.  Read More

Point Loma Nazarene remained perfect on the year after a 1-0 victory over non-conference Hannibal-LaGrange (MO) at APU Monday afternoon. The Sea Lions won despite playing a man down for most of the game and despite the ten shots on goal that the Trojan goalie stopped. Read More

PLNU defeated visiting La Sierra 3-0 on Thursday to improve to 4-0 on the season. The Sea Lions outshot the Golden Eagles 31-2 in the non-conference tilt but only managed to put the ball into the net three times. Read More
