Prior to PLNU
Spent two years as a Sultan at Santana High School playing multiple positions, mainly pitcher and shortstop… coached by Mike Bass, Jessica was able to accumulate four varsity letters… earned many honors and awards include 2009 team captain, 2008/2009 League Champions and 2008 CIF SDs D3 Champions… overall high school stats include a batting average of .403, 23 homeruns, 77 RBI’s, 134 runs, 93/96 stolen bases… as a pitcher had a 38-13 record, ERA of 1.55, 411 innings pitched and 635 strikeouts… also prepped at Christian HS...most exciting softball moment was winning the CIF Championship in College Station, Texas in 2004.

Born January 3, 1991 in San Diego, CA to Mark and Ann Owens… three siblings: Michah, Justin and Melissa… sister, Melissa, played softball at SDSU and was awarded 2007 defensive player of the year and All-Mountain West Conference team… lists favorite food as spaghetti and favorite movie as A Walk to Remember… enjoys spending time with friends and family… "Jessie" is a child development major with a desire to become an elementary school teacher.
