Short Announces Volleyball Recruits |

PLNU Volleyball Brings in Nine Newcomers
June 15 -- Point Loma Nazarene University volleyball coach Rochelle Short announced her nine-player recruit ing class for 2009 on Monday. The large incoming class includes eight freshmen: Maddie Dahms, Natalie Hamill, Nicole Eiler, Tashia Hardeman, Cassie Irwin, Chelsea Joanou, Karleigh Kaczmarek and Stacie Redmond, and one junior transfer, Alyssa Pitkin. “We are excited about this upcoming recruiting class,” Short, who is in her second season running the PLNU volleyball program, said. “This talented group of girls will definitely help us continue our successful program. We are looking forward to August and the start of the 2009 season.” In 2008, Short guided the Sea Lions to a 22-11 overall record and a No. 13 final national ranking. PLNU went 4-2 in the postseason and advanced to the NAIA Championship tournament quarterfinals for the first time since in six years. Below is the list of new recruits in alphabetical order
