SNAPL- Giving Back

Student Nurses Association at Point Loma (SNAPL) is off to a great start this year. So far this semester we have already organized and hosted three successful events and have more to come. At the beginning of the semester we hosted a welcome back lunch, linking the new sophomore nursing students with some veteran seniors. During the Flu clinic we hosted in October, we were able to offer our nursing students both the opportunity to give and receive flu shots for the upcoming flu season. The most successful and rewarding event that we have hosted so far was “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk in Balboa Park. It was a great event where the San Diego community came out support those with breast cancer and raise awareness in women. Our upcoming event is just as exciting too. Rock for Reynolds is an event we are hosting to raise funds for a few young women to be able to attend nursing school in India. We will be having a few local bands play in the Rec Room at 7pm on November 14. Keep your eyes open for more info.

Come down to the Golden Gymnasium and experience the culture of the Islands in the South Pacific Ocean. This event will have booths that will teach the students of Point Loma to make Leis in the traditional Hawaiian style, get a tribal Henna tattoo, drink a tropical dessert, watch Tahitian Dance, and enjoy the music of the Islands through a concert put on by an Island Reggae Band from the Islands of Hawai’i. This event is open to the entire student body and tickets are 5 dollars pre-sale in front of the Café and 6 dollars at the door. We hope to see all of you at the ‘Ailana Cultural Festival!
