Areas of Research

Dr. Olivier-Lilley has directed several PLNU students (currently all-international from Argentina and India) in research on the biochemical and kinetic properties of sweet potato purple acid phosphatase (SPAP). The research has been supported by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Grant. Studies on the substrate specificity of the enzyme was presented at the 219th National Meeting of the Americian Chemical Society (ACS) in San Francisco in March 2000. She also received a Wesleyan Center Fellowship from PLNU for release time during Spring 2001 to continue research on this project.
