Drs. Czech and Forward recently presented a research paper entitled "Communicating Leadership: Faculty Perceptions of the Department Chair" to the Organizational Communication Division of the National Communication Association Convention in Chicago. The project, based on Professor Czech's doctoral dissertation, was presented to an appreciative audience on Sunday morning, November 18, 2007. The respondent, Dr. Jaesub Lee, University of Huston, joked that he had already fowarded a copy to his department chair and that he "looked forward to seeing it in print soon." The research, based on a random sample of faculty at private, four-year Universities in the US, provides a powerful model of the relationship between specific communication behaviors and leadership effectiveness and faculty job satisfaction.
