Christians in Media Influence Industry

In the new documentary series, Christians in Media, students talk with influential Christian producers, writers, executives and other television and film makers about what Hollywood life is like while striving to live a God-fearing life.

The first episode focuses on Ralph Winter, producer who has worked on films including X-Men and Fantastic Four series and other Hollywood projects. Winter sat down and gave pointers and insights into life inside the film industry. He also challenged students to keep God as the main focus in every aspect of life.

The second episode of Christians in Media profiles another Hollywood leader, Dean Batali, this time inside the television realm. Batali’s credits include writing for the hit television shows, That 70’s Show and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Batali tells about the struggles with being a Hollywood writer and a Christian, and offers great advice to students seeking a career in the television industry.

The next episode of Christians in Media will feature Jason Carter, a PLNU alumnus who works at DreamWorks studios in Los Angeles. Jason shares about his journey to Dream Works, and talked about how he stood out among hundreds of applicants because of his exceptional short film that he produced at PLNU, Isle Nevis. He encourages future film makers to follow their dreams and put Christ first in whatever they do.
