Media Communication Student – Jason Carter, Success Story.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

With much hard work and dedication, Jason Carter, a PLNU alumnus, has made his dream come true, he is now in Hollywood, working for Dream Works.

It all started here at Point Loma when Carter, a Media Communication major, produced a film entitled Isle Nevis. This film was the first major student film production at PLNU. The movie was entered in several festivals and won several awards.

“I’ll never forget four inexperienced students coming into my office and proposing that we buy a digital film camera and allow them to produce a period costume movie about Pirates.” recalls Professor Alan Hueth.

They had over 100 crew members and actors involved. “Although I thought it was way too big and complicated for them to make, they proved me wrong and I’m glad they did.” claims Hueth.

After graduating from PLNU, Carter got a job in corporate video production. He then got a job at Dream Works. He now works for the animation department and leads his own unit.

If you look closely, you might be able to see Carter in the latest installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, as he played an extra in that film. “I think that a recent PLNU graduate getting a major motion picture studio is phenomenal.” said Hueth. “It tells a lot about his talent.”

Keep your eyes peeled for his name in the credits of the latest Dream Works film, Bee Movie.
