Eight (8) PLNU media communication and broadcast journalism majors will be attending the upcoming annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Conventions in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 15-19.

The group includes the Channel 3: Your Channel station management team, Heather Michel (station manager), Mauricio Perez (productions manager), Nicole Jimenez (Coastline News manager), and Mike Stollenwerk (traffic and programming manager). Junior Michelle Harman will also be joining the group, along with this year’s studio technical assistants (TA’s) Jacob Schafer, Sherene Ebrahimi, and Shelby Martin.

Students will be attending a variety of conference workshops, and will have access to one of the world’s largest showrooms of the latest TV and film technologies in the world.

Media communication faculty member Dr. Alan Hueth said that “This is truly a unique opportunity and experience for our students, and they should come away with a much broader understanding of the TV industry and how the new and latest camera, sound, lighting, and recording systems work.”
