Dissertation & Research
"Adoption, diffusion, and optimal uses of computer technologies for instruction in higher education: A case study of a mid-west college," 1998, University of Dayton, Dayton, OH.
The dissertation was an ethnographic case study involving 20 weeks of observation and interviews with faculty, administrators, staff, and students concerning their use (and non-use) of computer technology for instruction at a small (but technologically innovative) Christian liberal arts college.
Study included the consideration of systems theory, change theories, and learning theories reflected in the environment
I have also been doing qualitative research on website development on the World Wide Web with my students, specifically, content and stylistic analysis of Christian university websites. An ongoing interest in media uses and effects has included student essays (self-reports and analysis) of the use of media (TV, film/videos, computer games, etc.) in their families.
Publications, Papers, etc.
Scholarly papers and presentations on media, technology, learning theories... professional workshops for CEOs, teachers, and pastors...chances to share and learn...it's been fun, to say the least!
