The San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation currently has an internship opening for a creative individual to implement and support the agency’s special events and patient programs. This person will assist the Executive Director and Program Coordinator in the planning, implementation and wrap-up of annual Golf Tournament, new events and patient programs as well as develop and nurture relationships with key volunteers, donors, and sponsors. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in learning how non-profits work. It is a very hands-on internship and we are looking for someone who can follow directions and works well on their own and closely with others. The schedule is flexible and we are looking for someone who can work either 2 or 3 days a week, ranging from 10 to 25 hours per week. This position will begin as a non-paid internship with the opportunity to earn college credit. Future growth with the organization is available for the right individual. Qualificiations: •Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written) necessary to communicate diplomatically and effectively with volunteers, donors, and other staff members, and to provide information requiring courtesy and tact. •Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and stay organized to ensure timely and accurate work. •Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. •Previous office experience preferred Responsibilities will include: •Office Support; typing, filing, copying •Coordinate letters and mailings •Maintain efficient record-keeping systems, including databases •Assist with planning of events as needed •Develop and produce event materials as needed •Assist with recruiting sponsors Please send cover letter and resume to Erin Plonski at erinsdbtf@yahoo.com |
