Do you love magazines? Are you interested in trends in current events and media? Do you enjoy research? Are you ready to gain valuable skills that employers desire? If so, the office of Marketing and Creative Services (MCS) wants you as an intern for the upcoming semester. As a research intern, you’ll work in a vibrant office that has its finger on the pulse of everything Point Loma. One of the main responsibilities will be to look through the dozens of magazines (including TIME, Newsweek, and WORLD) and monitor what kinds of stories are being published. You’ll be able to keep track of specific events, trends, and topics that are relevant to the PLNU community. Your efforts will help the media relations officer better anticipate what stories the media is looking for and help connect faculty experts with relevant reporters. Other job responsibilities may include writing press releases, doing internet research for various MCS projects, contributing to The Viewpoint alumni magazine, and attending MCS project planning meetings. Hours are flexible and based around your schedule. |
