Cabrillo Hall is the home of the Communication & Theatre Department. The department offers five majors: Communication, Management & Organizational Communication, Media, Broadcast Journalism and Theatre. The Management & Organizational Communication major is one of the university's largest majors. MOCM combines business fundamentals with a main focus on working with and through people to accomplish goals. The department runs a vigorous internship program placing students in major San Diego companies which often result in full time job offers.
The media and broadcast journalism majors have a fully equipped video studio and closed circuit television network on the campus and are continually writing, producing and broadcasting shows for the network. The students in these majors have won major national awards in festivals and competition across the nation.
The department also fields one of the best forensic teams in the country. Point Loma has been national champions three out of the last five years and is the current national champion in parliamentary debate. The team debates teams from the largest and highest ranked universities in the country.
