HYGIENE & SCHOOL SUPPLIES COLLECTION DRIVE FOR KATRINA VICTIMS – The PLNU School of Nursing and Heart to Heart International are sending a group of faculty and nursing students to New Orleans over Christmas Break to perform a healthcare needs assessment. We are assembling hygiene and school supply kits to take with us to hand out to victims of Katrina. Please help out by donating hygiene items (wrapped toothbrushes, small bottles of toothpaste and shampoo, soap, etc) and school supplies (pencils, paper folders, lined paper, small stuffed animals, etc) to include in these packages. Heart to Heart has a specific list of items; please see the flyers found by the collection boxes in your residence hall lobby, nursing office, and Nicholson Commons Piano Lounge for a detailed list of items. Please help us provide these hurricane victims with the simple essential items that so many of us take for granted. For a list of items, please see these links: http://wwwhearttoheart.org?PDF/CareKitSheet.pdf and http://wwwhearttoheart.org/PDF/SchoolKitSheet.pdf.

BIBLE COLLECTION FOR NEW ORLEANS TRIP - The PLNU School of Nursing and Heart to Heart International are sending a group of faculty and nursing students to New Orleans over Christmas Break. They will be assessing health needs, and passing out care kits and Bibles to those who lost everything in the hurricane. PLEASE BRING IN ANY EXTRA BIBLES TO CHAPEL AND PLACE THEM ON THE ALTER EVERYDAY UNTIL FRIDAY, Dec. 1st. The deadline for monetary donations is Tuesday, 12/5. Collection boxes can be found in the lobby of Brown Chapel and the Nursing Office (Taylor Hall). While at home over break, grab all those extra Bibles sitting around and collect some from your home church congregation. (11/27)

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD - Want to make a Christmas gift possible for a child overseas? The Samaritan's Purse is an organization that collects shoeboxes full of small gifts for thousands of children around the globe, and we want you to be involved! Put one (or a lot!) together with friends, roommates, coworkers, church groups and Loma organizations, then be on the lookout for a donation table November 13-20. Raid the Dollar Store, Target, Big Lots or TJMaxx, be creative in wrapping, and include just $5 to help with shipping. We're not going to lie - it's a fun way to help out. See the Social Work Club Portal for more information, or contact us at socialworkclub@pointloma.edu. http://www.samaritanspurse.org/OCC.asp?MPGID=1
