Academic Announcements
*GRADUATINIG SENIORS - If you have not already completed and signed a grad check and had your head measured in the Records Office, you must apply to participate in Commencement in May 2008 by February 8, 2008. To complete an Application for Graduation, please come into the Records Office or contact your designated Academic Records Specialist. If your last name begins with A-K, please contact Amber Christensen at achriste@pointloma.edu. If your last name begins with L-Z, please contact Ali Cook at alicook@pointloma.edu.
*SUMMER GRADUATES - If you plan to participate in Commencement, but will not complete your graduation requirements until summer 2008, you must come in to the Records Office to fill out a Summer Graduation Application with your Academic Records Specialist by Friday, February 25, 2008. Your application must be approved in order to secure your participation in Commencement. You may complete up to 12 units in the summer to participate in May Commencement.
*COURSES NUMBERED 097-099 - Courses numbered 097-099 are remedial courses that DO NOT apply toward total units required for graduation. They are courses pertaining to those skills students are expected to possess upon entry to the University.
*SIGN-UP FOR SUBSIDIZED TRIP TO NAZARENE THIEOLOGICAL SEMINARY - EXPO 2008 - The School of Theology and Christian Ministry is pleased to have an opportunity to once again help send a group of PLNU students to the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, to attend their Expo 2008 event - March 30 through April 1. The event is designed for all undergraduate students seriously considering attending seminary after graduation, and is an opportunity to explore one of the premier theological seminaries in the Wesleyan tradition. This popular event offers opportunities for such things as: class visitation, chapel, KC BBQ, a “night-on-the-town”, and time with faculty, administrators, and the Office of Admissions team. Each year, the School of Theology and Christian Ministry subsidizes as much of the airfare as possible. The subsidy is on a first come, first serve basis. So, if you are interested in attending the event, you will need to hand-deliver a registration fee of $40 and a copy of your driver’s license to the department assistant in the School of Theology and Christian Ministry, Rohr Hall 101, no later than Monday, February 11, 2008. Checks should be made out to NTS. Once we have your check, your name will be added to the priority list from which the STCM will decide how much of the airfare we will be able to subsidize. We will then contact each person on the list. At that time you will have an opportunity to cancel your reservation, should you so choose, and your $40 registration check will be returned to you un-cashed. Please contact the department assistant, for more details or with any questions, at: (619) 849-2234, or on campus at: x-2234, or via e-mail at: PatJafry@pointloma.edu.
*PRESIDENT'S DAY - There will be no classes on President’s Day, Monday, February 18, 2008.
*SPRING BREAK - Spring Break is Monday through Friday, March 3rd – 7th. Enjoy your vacation, but remember that you are responsible for class attendance on Friday, February 29th and Monday, March 10th. Please make your travel plans accordingly.

Please do not use the 1098T you were originally sent. We are currently in the process of generating Corrected 1098T forms, and they will be sent out by Wednesday, February 6th. The Corrected 1098T will reflect the official information sent to the IRS, so it is important that you use the Corrected 1098T form when filing your taxes. If you have already filed your taxes using the original 1098T, please consult your tax advisor. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
