Information Concerning Alert Submittals


NOVEMBER DEADLINE INFO:
Monday, November 16 Edition - the deadline for submissions is Thursday, November 12 at NOON. Monday, November 23 Edition - the deadline is Thursday, November 19. Monday, November 30 Edition - Tuesday, November 24 at NOON - this is due to the Thanksgiving holiday. No exceptions will be made for this edition.


NOTICE: THE DEADLINE FOR ALERT SUBMISSIONS IS NOON ON THURSDAY, FOR THE NEXT MONDAY EDITION.
We cannot guarantee the publication of your announcement if received late. Please note that if you do not receive a personal confirmation from the Alert staff within 24 hours - then we did not receive your announcement. - Enjoy an elegant and delicious gourmet meal accompanied by meticulous instruction on how to conduct yourself in a formal business setting. The Etiquette Dinner is offered to provide you with an introduction to the basic social graces, to help you have self-confidence in a variety of social and employment situations, and to have a framework for comfortable and respectful interaction. Plan to join us – it is great fun! The cost for each dinner is $16.00, payable by check, cash or credit card. If you are interested in attending this event, please come to the Academic Support Center located at the south end of the Bond Academic Center to reserve your place. HOPE LUNCHEON ­- The Microfinance Club encourages you to attend the HOPE International Luncheon, November 18, 12 - 1:30 p.m. in the Fermanian Board Room and Plaza. NOTE TAKING METHODS THAT WORK FOR YOU!

Cornell Note taking- divide your paper into three sections: Notes, Key Words, Summary
1. Notes- use outline format, short phrases, space between items for adding more information after class

2. Key Words- choose one or two words that summarize the topic

3. Summary-leave space at the bottom; during study time, summarize the topic covered in your own words


MAKING NOTES WORK FOR YOU!

1. Review notes the same day they’re taken

2. As you review, write additional key words or phrases in the left margin

3. Place a check mark beside the terms and facts you know

4. Review the words unchecked until all key words and facts are checked
