*LAST DAY TO DROP QUAD II - The last day to drop a Quad II class is November 14. If you plan to drop a class, please fill out a Change of Schedule Form in the Records Office. You are ultimately responsible for dropping your classes.
*THANKSGIVING RECESS - Thanksgiving Recess will be from Wednesday, November 26, through Friday, November 28. There will be no classes on these days. Enjoy your holiday!

*NEW STAFF - We have new staff in Student Financial Services. We hired two new advisors in August, and a new advisor started last week too! You have probably already met Alessandra Brivio and Melissa Darnell. Martha Yrigoyen is now here to help you as well. I’m very excited about our team and I know that they each care deeply about your financial concerns. Please feel free to contact us if you need to discuss your account. *DO YOU HAVE ANY FEEDBACK? - Each semester, Student Financial Services sends out numerous communications to all students regarding meal plans, health insurance, claiming loans, checking account balance, late fees, etc., but each semester we have many students say they never received this information. ROCK FOR REYNOLDS-BENEFIT CONCERT - Rock for Reynolds, A Benefit Concert, is happening on November 14, 7:30 p.m. in the Rec Room. It is going to be an amazing concert featuring the Christian band Urban Rescue along with music by Atlantic and Five O’clock People. The entrance fee is only $5 and every penny will go to start a scholarship foundation for nursing students at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Washim, India! This hospital was visited by the Nursing Loveworks Trip in the Summer of 2008. Let’s join together and Rock for Reynolds.

*THE SOCIETY FOR THE INTEGRATION OF PSYCHOLOGY AND THEOLOGY (SIPT) - SIPT is a discussion and a new society here on campus. We value the diverse participation of all students and faculty on campus. We intend to expand one another’s perspectives through creative and dynamic discussions. In past meetings we have discussed topics such as Wealth, Poverty, and God; Violent and Peaceful Social Change; The Contending Allegiances of Christianity and America. On November 17, we will be discussing the positive and negative influences that psychology has on our understanding of God - specifically through the theology and psychological theories of Scott M. READ FASTER WITH THE PQ3R: Preview-Question-Read-Recite-Review
1. Preview: Examine visuals, read first sentence, note bold and italicized words, read last paragraph of summary, read vocabulary terms and meanings.
2. Question: Compose your own questions, turn headings into questions to find out what the author wants you to know.
3. Read: Read as fast as possible getting the main ideas, mark selectively key points. Read and highlight first sentence of paragraphs.
4. Recite: Look at main ideas and summarize them aloud, compose a summary word or phrase and label the selection in the margin.
5. Review: Review your highlighting and key words, answer questions posed earlier.
