Writer's Symposium By the Sea


Word by Word, the 12th annual Writer's Symposium by the Sea, will be held on the Point Loma Nazarene University campus Feb. 21-23, 2007 in conjunction with the Wesleyan Center Conference “See, the Prints of Love,” an event focusing on writers’ and artists’ depiction of the Christian life.


Featured guests of the Writer's Symposium include Anne Lamott, author of Bird by Bird, Traveling Mercies, Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith, and Operating Instructions, and Eugene Peterson, scholar-pastor and author of The Message, Under the Predictable Plant, and Christ Plays in Ten Thousand Places.


An interview with Lamott, conducted by Dr. Dean Nelson, head of the journalism program, will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21. She will also speak that morning in student chapel, which starts at 9:45 a.m. On Friday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m., Nelson will interview Eugene Peterson. with a book signing to follow. Tickets for the Lamott and Peterson interviews are $15 for each.
