The group then moved to the Fermanian Conference Center which then gave each of the thirteen projects four minutes to do their “elevator pitch” for their project followed by questions from the twenty-one judges who traveled from not only the San Diego region but also Boise, Phoenix, Fresno and Sacramento. All of the judges are experienced entrepreneurs and business persons and represent a wide variety of business sectors. Following the pitch and question time the group ended the evening with dessert on the Plaza. Now in its second year, the PLNU Entrepreneur Enrichment Program exists to support the burgeoning interest of the PLNU community in entrepreneurship and small businesses, both for-profit and non-profit, across all academic disciplines and interests of PLNU students. In the inaugural 2007-08 EEP, seven student-entrepreneur projects completed the program and were honored at the Entrepreneur Banquet in May of 2008. The EEP is a co-curricular program that provides business mentoring and incubation assistance from skilled entrepreneurs and business leaders through a six month project incubation process that culminates in a completed market-ready business plan. In the next week the judge’s scoring sheets will be tabulated and selected projects will advance to the incubation and mentoring process.
