ROTC Honored at Spring Reception

ROTC Order of events
During a beautiful evening at the Fermanian School of Business, approximately 45 PLNU students in the Reserve Officer Training Corps were honored by the faculty and staff of the Fermanian School of Business. Joining the students were family members, faculty and staff of the Fermanian School of Business and PLNU Nursing Department, and President Bob Brower. A letter written by Dr. Bruce Schooling, Dean of the Fermanian School of Business, commended the students for their dedication, commitment and personal character in pursuing not only educational goals but simultaneously serving our country. Dean Schooling underscored the commitment of the School of Business to the PLNU ROTC program, both now and into the future.

The highlight of the evening was Dr. Jim McEliece (USA Retired), who spoke to the group on “Becoming an Officer of Excellence” and drew upon the New Testament and the five Centurions that are mentioned in Scripture. Also, President Brower encouraged and exhorted the ROTC students to bring the character and spirit of PLNU to wherever their military service would take them. He also presented each of the graduating students who have already been commissioned or are soon being commissioned a personal letter from his office. Each graduate received a copy of the popular leadership book “Outliers” inscribed by the members of the faculty and staff of the Fermanian School of Business.
