Interests

Business Development Service Manuals

My focus is to include producing Business Development Services (BDS) manuals for training purposes. Completed manuals will be tested in the field for micro-business development to be used by micro-finance loan officers. Dr. Bailey and students are working with Christian humanitarian agencies in developing curriculum objectives. Micro business manual topics will include:

Start your own business
Write a business plan
Write a balance sheet & income statement
Control your business’ cash flow
Budgets are powerful tools
How do markets work?
What is a Christian Work Ethic?
Manage your business ethically
Manage your family finances
Make your business grow
Control inventory and improve operational efficiency

Business Development Services Research

Working to identify available research, training materials, standards, and pedagogy for teaching Business Development Services (BDS) in the developing countries. This includes a detailed survey of the field to discover how to advance the mission of the Armenian Center for International Development. This research project focuses on identifying those who are conducting research in the area of BDS and the kinds of training materials that have been used successfully and those that have failed. Lessons learned will be included and used as a guide to curriculum development.
