Loan Counseling

It is a federal requirement to complete the entrance counseling prior to disbursement of a Federal Stafford Loan, Federal Perkins Loans or Federal Nursing loan, informing borrowers of their rights and responsibilities as well as other terms and conditions. Exit counseling is also federally required for all students who are graduating or withdrawing from the university informing, borrowers of their rights and responsibilities as well as repayment options, deferments, cautions against defaulting on a loan, and other terms and conditions. Withdrawing from the university includes leaves of absences from the university and periods of non-enrollment.

Entrance Counseling

New Stafford Loan Borrowers

Please be aware as a new Stafford Loan borrower you are required to complete a Loan Entrance Interview before your funds are disbursed into your student account. 

 

Students may complete this requirement online at EDFUND.

New students will receive additional information at the Financial Aid Information session at New Student Orientation (NSO).
 

New Perkins Loan Borrowers (Undergraduates only)

Please be aware as a new Perkins Loan borrower you will need to complete a Loan Entrance Interview online at ECSI's Web site when you claim your loan.
 

New Nursing Loan Borrowers (Undergraduates only)

You will complete your entrance interview at the time you visit the PLNU Student Financial Services Office to complete your Nursing loan promissory note and accompanying documents.

Exit Counseling

Graduating Seniors

Must attend scheduled sessions at the end of the semester you are graduating. A schedule will be sent out near the end of each semester (times, dates and location will be announced in the ALERT).

For All Other Students Leaving School

You may attend scheduled sessions at the end of the semester you are leaving. A schedule will be sent out near the end of each semester (times, dates and location will be announced in the ALERT).

Or, students may complete this requirement online at EDFUND, although fulfilling this requirement in person is highly recommended.
