The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is committed to provide a safe environment for the entire campus. This department:
DPS has a full-time Director, Supervisor, five staff Public Safety Officers and a Department Assistant. The student staff consists of Community Service Officers, Dispatchers, Receptionists and Shuttle/Escort Drivers. The DPS investigates campus-related incidents and coordinates with local law enforcement when needed. It is important that all crimes against persons or property occurring on campus be reported immediately to the DPS. The University strongly encourages victims and witnesses to report all incidents -- crimes and potential crimes against persons or property -- to the DPS immediately regardless of their nature. Any suspicious activity reported promptly lessens the likelihood of crime. If an individual's actions are suspicious, please call DPS and an officer will assess the situation and initiate appropriate action.

The university operates an off-campus shuttle service that provides opportunities for shopping and entertainment. The schedule is as follows:
- Thursday and Friday: 3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. --The shuttle leaves Prescott Prayer Chapel every hour on the hour with the last shuttle leaving at midnight
- Saturday and Sunday: 2:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. --The shuttle leaves Prescott Prayer Chapel every hour on the hour with the last shuttle leaving at midnight.
Emergencies requiring police, fire, or medical aid must be reported to DPS at 619-849-2525. DPS will respond to the emergency and contact the proper authorities.
