Residential Life
The purpose of the residence hall is to provide an environment where the University mission of teaching, shaping, and sending can be achieved. Our primary function is to ensure a challenging yet supportive place to live. Residence hall living can be the strongest impetus to healthy personal growth that is essential to the university experience and the future.
Because of our commitment to "provide higher education in a vital Christian community,"
Point Loma Nazarene University takes great care in structuring an environment to achieve that goal. The strength of this environment depends upon the integrity of the individuals within the community. Students represent Point Loma Nazarene University wherever they go and in whatever they do. In such a community, the lifestyle expectations are a direct reflection of the group focus. Every policy is designed to promote a campus environment where Jesus is Lord. The lifestyle expectations stated in this section are fully explained in the official "Statement of Policy and Regulations" found in the back of this book. The basic guidelines are given to provide a broad picture of the Point Loma Nazarene University environment in which all students are a part upon acceptance to the University.
The
Point Loma Nazarene University community is expected to do the following:
Endeavor in all ways to grow closer to God
Respect the rights and property of others at all times
Relate to others in a courteous and positive manner
Seek to do good to those who are less fortunate
Maintain a high degree of personal integrity and honesty
Dress with common sense and personal discretion in Christian simplicity and modesty
For policy information for Residential Life, please refer to the rules and regulations section at the back of this publication or visit our web site at:

All off-campus addresses will be verified yearly. Notice of change-of-address is the responsibility of the student and must be reported at the returning student check-in each semester. Changes of address that occur during the semester must be reported to the Office of Residential Life within 10 days of the change.
