Point Loma Nazarene University presents a fine art auction with all proceeds benefiting GenerateHope.

Human trafficking, or modern-day slavery, is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. Trafficking involves exploiting people for sex or labor through the threat or use of force, fraud, or coercion.  Approximately 27 million people around the world, including men, women, and children, are currently enslaved. The fall 2009 Viewpoint covered the topic of human trafficking.

GenerateHope.org
is opening its doors this year to provide dedicated housing and a comprehensive recovery program for women and girls, ages 18 to 30, who have been sexually exploited and/or trafficked. Since recovery from sexual exploitation is a long-term process, GenerateHope allows for up to seven years of support to work through past trauma. This provides women and their children the ability to live independently and become a positive influence on their communities and future generations. This is the first program of its kind in San Diego.

"Generate Hope" is an original painting by local artist Tim Caton commissioned by PLNU's alumni magazine, the Viewpoint. Tim Caton is an award-winning artist whose pieces are represented by 4 Walls Gallery and Mixture in San Diego. View Tim Caton's biography.

The custom frame, valued at $500, for "Generate Hope" was generously provided by The Frame Maker. The frame is a 2 1/2 inch wide hand rubbed gilded silver finish over a modified floater profile. Perfect for both traditional or contemporary interiors.

All proceeds from this auction will go directly to GenerateHope. The retail value for the painting with frame is $1,500. Any amount donated above $1,500 will be tax deductible.
