Social Security (FICA)

Earnings from employment at Point Loma Nazarene University are subject to Social Security taxes. The employer contributes an amount equal to the employee's contribution. These rates and amounts are fixed by the government and change periodically.


 




Personal Property Insurance

The University provides limited insurance to protect faculty against loss of personal property that is "usual and customary to the conduct of their University business." For specific details, contact the Business Office.





Housing Co-Investment Program

The University has made provisions to the extent funds are available, for a co-investment housing program for faculty and senior staff designed to assist in the recruitment and retention of qualified personnel. In the plan the University advances a portion of the purchase price and in lieu of charging interest, participates in the gain or loss of the property at time of settlement. The amount of available funding is limited. Participation in the investment program is not a vested right of any employee.

Individuals interested in the program should contact the Provost for information regarding eligibility.





Moving Expenses

In order to attract quality faculty and senior administrators, the University assists newly employed individuals with moving and relocation expenses. At the time a contract or letter of employment is issued, commitment to assist with moving expenses is placed in writing, if it is applicable.
