Wireless Networks

Wireless Networks Unknown (or inaccessible) property:CurrentPageVersion.PageID
PLNU has wired and wireless networking capabilities in most areas of the main campus and regional centers.  The wireless network provides the features and benefits of a traditional network without the limitations of wires or cables.  It gives students, faculty and staff the freedom to move around the campus while maintaining an active Internet connection.

Setup Instructions
Access to the PLNU wireless network is available to mobile computing devices such as laptops, PDAs, and smart cell phones with a 802.11b/g wireless card. The PLNU wireless network is not compatible with the 802.11a standard.

Students and Guests
Students and guests on campus should be able to connect to the wi-fi hotpot PLNU-GuestWiFi automatically. Students and guests who have problems connecting to the wireless network may contact the Student Help Desk (x7378) for assistance.

Staff and Faculty
University issued laptops should connect automatically to the PLNU-StaffWiFi network. This network is encrypted and is tied to your PLNU login. You will not be able to access university resources if you are connected to the guest network. Staff and faculty who have problem connecting to the wireless network may contact the Staff and Faculty Help Desk (x4357) for assistance.

NOTE: Other than the PLNU-StaffWiFi and the PLNU-GuestWiFi, no other wireless networks should be available or set up.
