Setting Up the Parent Portal

Part 1: Obtaining the Parent ID Number

  • Have the student log onto their portal
  • Click the "STUDENTS" tab
  • Under "Profile Update," click on "Update Information Releases"
  • Make sure the parents' names are added under the desired categories ("Financial Info", "Academic Info - on request", "Health Information", or "Other Personal Info")
  • If the parents' names are not already listed, click the "Edit" button, select the parent's name, and save the changes.

 

  • Next to the parents' names should be a six digit number (it should look like "[###### - Parent]")
  • That number is the parent ID number.  Write it down.

Part 2: Creating the Account

  • Without being logged in, click "Create Account" on the left sidebar of my.pointloma.edu
  • Follow the directions to complete setting up a portal account.  Make sure to use the parent ID for the ID number
