Happy Drive Windows XP |
|
- From the start menu navigate your mouse to the icon that says
My Computer. When your mouse is directly above this icon,
right-click to reveal a menu. Select Map Network Drive.

- The following window will appear. Type \\happy\username$
(where it says "username" is where you will type your PLNU
username). Check the box that says Reconnect at Logon.

- Click the link that says Connect using a different user
name (circled above). The following window will appear. In the
User name text box, enter: SERVNET\username (where it
says "username" is where you will type your PLNU username). In the
Password text box, enter your PLNU password. If you see
an option to Remember my password, mark this checkbox: this
way, your Happy drive will be connected each time you start your
computer.

- Press OK. The following window will appear. Log on to
the drive. The folder will then appear available for you to use. By
default, with Windows XP you will have to log on to your Happy
folder every time you boot up your computer unless you complete
steps five and six. If you had the option to save your password,
this does not apply to you.

- NOTE: Only proceed if you are the only one who uses this
computer and you have a password on the account on which you are
configuring this.
Go to the Control Panel. Click on User Accounts. Select your
account from the list that comes up by clicking on the account. In
the upper left of the window (shown below) is a link that says
Manage my network passwords. Click this link.

- Click the Add button and the following windows will come
up. For server, enter: happy\username$. In the user name
box, enter: SERVNET\username. Finally, in the password box,
enter your PLNU password. By completing these steps you will not be
asked to type in this information each time you boot up your
computer when you are logged on as this user.

- If you want to disconnect your network drive, you can do this
my opening up My Computer, right-clicking on the drive, then
selecting Disconnect. One reason you may want to do this is
that only one Happy drive can be configured at a time per
user.
