The Manager of Student Computing works collaboratively with both Residential Life and Information Technology Services.

ResNet is the part of the campus network (Lomanet) designed for student use. The ResNet Program is dedicated to helping students connect their computers to the network.


ResNet staff are trained to:

  • Help students get and stay connected to the network
  • Help with troubleshooting of student computers
  • Educate students on how to use the network

ResTechs provide the following services:

  • Produce and maintain the Student Resource CD (how to maintain and protect your computer)
  • Assist students with problems connecting to the network
  • Assist students with Virus and Spyware removal and protection of their computers
  • Assist students with troubleshooting
  • Enhance communication between students and appropriate departments

Services that a ResTech CANNOT do, unless specifically directed by a supervisor:

  • Install an operating system or upgrade an operating system 
  • Install any software other than the basic networking software
