Call Waiting

All residence hall and on-campus apartment telephone lines have Call Waiting activated. When the line is busy, the second caller will hear four rings and then they will be forwarded to the occupant's voice mailbox (if the second call is not answered). Residents may want to turn call waiting off under certain circumstances (i.e. using a modem for a computer).


To Cancel the Call Waiting Tone


 Lift receiver, Dial *2 and hang up

 (Callers will hear a busy signal, if you are on the phone)

NOTE: CALL WAITING DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY REACTIVATE. RESIDENTS MUST DO THE FOLLOWING TO REESTABLISH CALL WAITING.


To Activate the Call Waiting Tone


 Lift receiver, Dial *3 and hang up

 (Callers will hear four rings and then forward to your Voice Mail, if you do not answer the second call)
